Kentucky Lawmakers Assemble Bags Of Food

Kentucky lawmakers assembled bags of food to be distributed to children at risk of going hungry at an event planned by a House leader who remains hospitalized.Lawmakers from both parties formed assembly lines Monday to put pasta, canned vegetables, pudding cups, juice boxes and other food into bags.The goal was to distribute 2,100 bags of food to 18 schools or Head Start programs statewide, said Tamara Sandberg, executive director of Feeding Kentucky, a statewide association of food banks that organized the event. Each bag held enough food for three meals and two snacks.
