Advent Turns To Scripture During Covid Battle

Covid-19 has put its toll on just about everyone…with that, Advent Health in Manchester held a month of prayer, with workers, patients and the community…all in an effort to bring something into the atmosphere that would help associates handle the difficult situation with an even keel. This week, the hospital hosted a virtual prayer vigil with the community. Officials at the facility say we all need prayer and to be praying for each other. They say people at the hospital will read and share scripture each day in September.

Covid Tracking Improves In KY

As we are learning, the new school year is starting off under unusual circumstances amid COVID-19. As districts navigate the virus and getting students back in class, they are also working to be as transparent as possible when it comes to cases among students and staff. To help, Gov., Beshear announced a statewide portal for tracking cases, and the process for doing so. And now, some districts in eastern Kentucky have posted their own dashboards after reporting cases.

Blondell Moves On

A long-time Commonwealth Attorney from the mountains announces her retirement. Karen Greene Blondell says she will step down after 27 years as the attorney for Bell County. Blondell practiced privately in Middlesboro for 10 years until she was elected as Commonwealth’s Attorney in November of 1993. She was named Outstanding Attorney twice in Kentucky.

Another Way To Help During Pandemic

After working for a bigger grocery delivery company, Daniela Fox decided to open her own business after the coronavirus hit. So, she started Foxes Shopping and Delivery service, where she shops and delivers peoples groceries to their doorsteps. Based out of Laurel County, she says she personally sees how a service like this can help. Fox adds when it comes to shopping for others, it’s easier than shopping for herself…and customers can send their lists in various ways. One of the best is to order off of her facebook app. Because of Covid-19, she says she is quite busy these days…and she’s glad it helps people out as well…as the coronavirus continues.
